With the cost of gas soaring, Sunquest wants passengers to know that if they book now, they will avoid any surcharges in the future. The best bet to avoid the possibility of any future increases is to book early, and not only will you avoid future surcharges, but you can also take advantage of Sunquest's great Early Booking Bonuses that include savings from $200 to $400 per couple. Most importantly however, when you book early, you can get exactly the destination and resort you want, as well as the day of departure, without running the risk of having to go with your second choice because your first choice was sold out.
A major reconstruction of the main Runway 09/27 at the Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker Airport is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2008. The project also includes the installation of high intensity approach lighting and restoration of taxiway Foxtrot and a portion of taxiway Alpha.
Through extensive research, consultation and weather analysis the construction schedule has been developed to minimize operational impact at the airport. Air travel should only be restricted from July 22 – 24 when restoration of the runway intersection is scheduled. The public is advised to check with their airline if they have travel plans during this time.
The runway project is expected to be completed by the end of September, 2008 at a cost of $16 M.
